The man on the left is D.G. Martin rather than D.G. Morgan. He served, at different times, as Secretary and a Vice President for the University of North Carolina system. Mr. Jones was a member of the UNC Board of Governors.

Description

This image shows D. G. Martin, a member of the General Administration for the UNC system, speaking at a podium with Roddy Jones at the 1989 Conference on Trusteeship held at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Attendees included the Board of Governors, trustees and chancellors from the 16 universities within the University of North Carolina System. Guest speakers included Paul Fulton, president of the Sara Lee Corporation, and University of California President Emeritus Clark Kerr. It was held in the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center, built 1972.
