Workman Lecture Series, circa 1962, photo 1

Description

The Workman Lecture Series was originally a lecture held twice a year by the College of Business in the auditorium of I. G. Greer Hall, built 1950, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). The lecture series was established after a monetary gift by Sarah Workman, the sister of the late Appalachian State economics professor John H. Workman, which also established the annual John Workman Scholarship. The purpose of the series was to bring distinguished businessmen and women to campus and illuminate students with brilliant insights of the current business world. This image shows a woman sitting at a table, possibly Sarah Workman.
