Description

This image shows the dedication ceremony for Kidd Brewer Stadium at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Appalachian State Chancellor John E. Thomas (1979-1993) can be seen handing a footbal to Kidd Brewer on the football field. The stadium was originally built in 1962 as Conrad Stadium. It was rebuilt in 1979, and renamed Kidd Brewer in 1988. Kidd Brewer was the former head coach at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). He retired in 1938 to pursue a career in business.
