Description

This image shows an open cage holding several snakes in a laboratory classroom in Smith-Wright Hall, built 1940, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1950s. The Department of Biology included courses on animal observation, zoology, and graduate classes in animal ecology. Part of a student can be seen observing in the background.
