Description

This image shows the officers of the Women's Athletic Association for 1957-58 at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Four women can be seen looking down over the top of a basketball goal in one of the campus gyms. The Women's Athletic Association was formed of women who were physical education majors interested in extracurricular activities related to physical and health education. Association activities included games and programs emphasizing physical education and exercise, such as volleyball, softball, speedball, soccer, and basketball, and various intramural programs including badminton, tennis, archery, and ping-pong. This image appears in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 155).
