Commencement, circa 1965, addresses

This image shows a commencement speaker standing behind a podium on stage in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, during commencement ceremonies at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), circa 1965. President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969) can be seen standing on the left, holding a pair of glasses, and degrees can be seen piled on a table on the right. Commencement was held at Broome-Kirk Gymnasium until 1968, when the Varsity Gymnasium was completed.
