This image shows the processional entering the Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, for commencement ceremonies at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Faculty can be seen in the front of the line in full academic dress, with students in the back of the line. Rankin Science Hall, built 1963, is visible in the background. Commencement was held at Broome-Kirk Gymnasium until 1968, when the Varsity Gymnasium was completed.
