East Residence Hall, 1959, photo 3

This image shows the new eastern wing of East Residence Hall, built 1952, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). It served as a women's dormitory. It was originally designed to hold 204 women, with two students per room, but due to overcrowding was later known to hold three to a room.
