Title

East Residence Hall, winter

Description

This image shows East Residence Hall, built 1952, after a snowfall at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). It served as a women's dormitory. This image shows the southeastern side of the building, with Coffey Hall (Faculty Apartments, built 1938 and renovated 1953) visible in the background. It was designed to hold 204 women, with two students per room, but due to overcrowding was later known to hold three to a room.
