Description
This image shows two students standing at a counter speaking with a photographic developer in a shop. Developing fluids line shelves on the walls in the background, and a display reading, "Polaroid," is in the foreground. The students are part of a photography course taught in the Department of Mathematics and Physics at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). The department included not only math courses, but courses on photography, heat and sound, electricity, magnetism, household physics, mechanics, and physics. Many hands-on physics and mechanical courses also included additional laboratory sessions. This image was taken in the mid-1950s.
