Commencement, 1976, processional, photo 1

This image shows the processional walking down the aisle of an auditorium at the May 1976 commencement ceremony at Appalachian State University (1967-current). The student ambassadors can be seen walking in front, with a professor carrying a banner bearing the Appalachian State seal behind them. Students can be seen standing in front of their chairs or moving towards them in the background. Commencement ceremonies were held in Varsity Gymnasium since the building's completion in 1968. Carrying the banner is Dr. George Miles, Professor of Chemistry.
