Description

This image shows the 1952 Homecoming float for the Women's Athletic Association during the Homecoming Parade at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Four women are painted silver and standing on top of a convertible. Student Sue Hunter is in a swim suit about to dive, Doris Freeze is holding a tennis racket, Betty Lowder is holding a basketball, and Joyce Weaver is aiming a bow and arrow. Sitting on the float is Peggy Teague, WAA president. This float won the first place in the float competition. Chapell Wilson Hall, built 1938, can be seen in the background.
