This image shows members of an unidentified student organization at Appalachian High School (1938-1965) sitting behind a desk in the library at Chapell Wilson Hall, built 1938, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). A display behind them includes a drawing of a man with building tools, and reads, "Building for the future with better schools." Appalachian High School was a joint venture between Appalachian State Teachers College and Watauga County Schools, wherein Watauga students would be taught by Appalachian State faculty and students. It was housed in Chapell Wilson Hall.
