Appalachian High School, band, photo 2

This image shows the Appalachian High School (1938-1965) marching band sitting in semicircles on the stage in an auditorium at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Majorettes are standing at both sides of the stage. The Majorettes and marching band performed recitals and at the high school athletic events, including Appalachian State's Homecoming festivities. Appalachian High School was a joint venture between Appalachian State Teachers College and Watauga County Schools, wherein Watauga students would be taught by Appalachian State faculty and students.
