Appalachian High School, band, photo 1

This image shows the Appalachian High School (1938-1965) Majorettes standing in front of a stage, and the marching band sitting in semicircles on the stage in an auditorium at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). The Majorettes and marching band performed recitals and at the high school athletic events, including Appalachian State's Homecoming festivities. Appalachian High School was a joint venture between Appalachian State Teachers College and Watauga County Schools, wherein Watauga students would be taught by Appalachian State faculty and students.
