Description

This image shows officers of the Playcrafters posing for a picture for the Rhododendron, the student yearbook, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in 1958. The Playcrafters was the dramatic organization for Appalachian State, performing multiple one-act and three-act plays during the school year, as well as performing in regional and state contests. Qualified performers could be voted into Alpha Psi Omega, the honorary dramatics fraternity. Shown standing in the back are Dale Freeman, secretary, Willie Frye, vice-president, Mickey Hagler, playbill editor, and seen sitting are Mary Johnston, sponsor, Beth Davis, president, Jane Marshall, treasurer, and Penny Kirk, historian. This image appears in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 119).
