Description

This image shows a man diving off a board while handful of others watch at the swimming pool in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) on May 3, 1958. The Department of Health and Physical Education offered advanced and beginner swimming classes, as well as sponsoring the Flying Fish, an organization promoting recreational and intramural swim programs.
