Title

Lovill Home, second, 1958

Description

This image shows the southern (front) entrance to the second Lovill Home, built 1915, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), on October 7, 1958. Three students can be seen sitting on the steps. It served as a dormitory for 150 women. It was positioned on the Promenade across from the Welborn Cafeteria, between White Hall, built 1924, and East Hall, built 1952, where Sanford Hall, built 1969, now stands. It was demolished in 1967. This image appears in the 1959 Rhododendron (p. 137).
