Title

Homecoming Displays, 1958, photo 4

Description

This image shows the awarding of trophies for the best Homecoming displays constructed on the Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) campus on October 18, 1958. A man hands a trophy to a member of one of the college organizations whose display was voted one of the best. Another winner stands holding a trophy on the left. The trophy awarding took place on College Field during the Homecoming game half-time period. The band stands just behind the winners, and the audience can be seen standing and sitting on bleachers. The second Administration Building, built 1924, and the Men's Gymnasium, built 1934, are in the background.
