Reading Center, 1957, class, photo 3

This image shows a class held in the Reading Center at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) on January 25, 1957. A group of students watch images projected onto a screen to the left by a projector. Books line the back wall on bookcases. The Reading Center provided diagnostic and remedial services for Appalachian students and the region in general. It also served as a laboratory for students in the teacher preparation program. This image appears in the 1959 Rhododendron (p. 164).
