This image shows a class held by the Reading Center at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) on January 25, 1957. A girl stands manning a projector while a class sits at desk and watches a screen. Two paintings are visible on the walls. The Reading Center provided diagnostic and remedial services for Appalachian students and the region in general. It also served as a laboratory for students in the teacher preparation program.
