Recital, 1957, Jim Rooker

This image shows Music professor and organist James W. Rooker playing the organ on October 18, 1957 at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Rooker performed a recital at the Fine Arts Auditorium in Greer Hall, built 1950, on October 29, 1957, and was the first occasion for the Allen Organ, purchased by the College in 1956, to be heard in a recital. This image appears in the October 24, 1957 edition of "The Appalachian" (p. 1).
