Commencement, 1978, Dwight Quinn and Herbert Wey

This image shows Dwight Quinn and Chancellor Herbert Walter Wey (1969-1979) after the commencement ceremony at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in May 1978. Quinn was a legislator in the North Carolina Legislature and former member of the Appalachian State Board of Trustees. Quinn played a prominent role in Appalachian State achieving university status, and received an honorary doctor of laws degree during the commencement ceremony.
