Commencement, 1990, processional

This image shows a line of students and professors heading into the Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968, as part of the opening processional for the 1990 commencement at Appalachian State University (1967-current). A professor carries a banner with the Appalachian State seal on it past chairs towards the stage. Leading the procession and carrying the banner is Dr. Braxton Harris, Vice chancellor for Student Affairs. Behind the student marshals are on the right Dr. Clinton Parker, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. On the left is Dr. Wilber Ward.
