Description

This image shows part of the 1968 commencement ceremony at Appalachian State University (1969-current). One graduates walks off the stage on the left, while another shakes the hand of President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969) in the center. Dr. Paul Sanders, Vice President for Academic Affairs reads off graduate names behind a podium on the right. The band can be seen sitting at the bottom left. It was one of the first graduating classes of Appalachian State as an official university.
