This image shows part of the 1968 commencement ceremony at Appalachian State University (1969-current). The man seated and holding the oboe is Dr. William Spencer, Professor of Music. The choir can be seen performing at the top right of the image, while the band sits at the bottom left. It was one of the first graduating classes of Appalachian State as an official university.
