Description

This image shows the student exhibit celebrating Hispanic influence on the United States during the Bicentennial Celebrations in 1976. Items are arranged in the display case at the University Bookstore, built 1969, at Appalachian State University (1969-current). This display was part of a student display competition. Poster in window reads, "...We pay due respect to Hispanic influence and heritage here in the United States," and includes posters, books, and items with Spanish and Mexican heritage. The United States Bicentennial was celebrated on Sunday, July 4, 1976, the 200th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
