Title

Student Service Corps, 1972

Description

This image shows two members of the Student Service Corps at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in October 1972. The Student Service Corps was a community service organization started in the fall of 1971, as part of the Office of Volunteer Programs. Students volunteered to work with children in churches, day cares, organizations, youth corps, and elementary schools. Seen are the two part-time student co-directors for 1972-1973. They are seated at a table with two books, a file folder, an empty soda bottle, and a rotary telephone. Part of the American Flag can be seen hanging on the wall behind them.
