Title

Underground Electrical System, 1968, photo 2

Description

This image shows the Locust Street view of the laying of underground electrical wiring during the construction of the University Bookstore, built 1969, at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Dislodged portions of asphalt lay on College Street as a bulldozer shovels dirt out of the street to lay the wiring. W. H. Plemmons Student Union, built 1967, and D. D. Dougherty Library, built 1935, can be seen in the background, and the metal frame of the bookstore can be seen to the left.
