Description

This image shows five members of the Placement Office at Appalachian State University (1967-current), standing in front of an unidentified building in late 1978 or early 1979. On the left is Dr. Robert Randall, Director of the Placement Office. On the right is Dr. Richard Sorensen, Dean of the College of Business. The Office of Placement and Career Development primarily existed to help alumni and graduating students to locate jobs. It used connections with other universities, state and local governments, and industries to provide students with updates on job vacancies, certification and license requirements, and examinations. It also offered computer placement services and arranged interviews.
