This image shows receptionist Kathy S. Justice at the Placement Office at Appalachian State University (1967-current), seated at a desk talking on the phone, in the Administration Building Annex, built 1932, now Founder's Hall. The Office of Placement and Career Development primarily existed to help alumni and graduating students to locate jobs. It used connections with other universities, state and local governments, and industries to provide students with updates on job vacancies, certification and license requirements, and examinations. It also offered computer placement services and arranged interviews. The sign over the desk reads, "Placement and Career Office."
