This image shows Appalachian State University (1967-current) Chancellor John E. Thomas (right) outside the Auditore Jean Piaget, at Uni Dufour at the University of Geneva. John E. Thomas and Gerald Bolick, coordinator of grants at Appalachian State, traveled to several European governments and universities in early May 1980 to promote a proposed faculty exchange program between foreign universities and Appalachian State.
