This image shows a press conference held by the Grant Planning office and John E. Thomas, chancellor from 1979-1993, at Appalachian State University (1967-current). The conference followed an eight day trip to Europe made by Thomas and Gerald Bolick, coordinator of grants, concerning a proposed program of faculty exchanges with other European universities.
