Food Services, W. H. Plemmons

This image shows William Howard Plemmons, president of Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) from 1955 to 1969, and Mrs. Plemmons (right), being given drinks by a cafeteria employee, ladling out punch from a punch bowl in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925. Welborn Cafeteria was the main dining hall for Appalachian State since 1925, and served food primarily grown from the University's two farms until the early 1960s.
