Description

This image shows the Appalachian Fall Festival held at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in September 1973. Students stand on the parking lot west of Chapell Wilson Hall, built 1938 (not shown). A group of onlookers, with the college band, stand in the center. In the background, the lights of Conrad Stadium, built 1962, the western end of Newland Hall, built 1939, Bowie and Eggers Halls, built 1966 and 1970, can be seen. The future location of Walker Hall, built 1975, is being cleared on the south side of Rivers Street.
