This image shows a northern view of Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) after a snowstorm, circa 1960-61. Seen in the immediate foreground is the Men's Gymnasium, built 1934. Across Rivers Street is Smith-Wright Hall, built 1940, Administration Building, built 1924, Women's Gymnasium, built 1924, Welborn Hall, built 1925. In the background, Whitener Hall, built 1954, Education Building, built 1925, D. D. Dougherty Library, built 1935, Watauga/Dauph-Blan Hall, built 1929, White Hall, built 1924, Lovill Home, built 1915, North/Workman Hall, built 1940, and Coffey Hall, built 1953, can be seen. This image appears in the 1961 Rhododendron (p. 5).
