Description

This image shows one of the Homecoming floats seen in the 1956 Homecoming parade at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). It shows a horse-drawn buggy, reading "1900," a convertible, reading "1956," and a rocket, reading "future." The banner at the bottom reads, "Scientific Progress Amazes the Indian." Homecoming was an annual event at Appalachian State Teachers College, including plays, a parade, a dance, a football game, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
