This image shows the Homecoming court of 1956. Shown from left to right are Carolyn Wall, Jean Abbott, Sybil Thomas, Carolyn Medlin, queen Carol Jean Preslar, and Dolly Koontz. Homecoming was an annual event at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), including plays, a parade, a dance, a football game, alumni activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
