Title

Homecoming, 1956, half-time

Description

This image shows five people standing on College Field during Homecoming at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in 1956. The band can be seen playing in the background, and the corner of Smith-Wright Hall, built 1940, and the second Administration Building, built 1924, are seen behind them. Homecoming was an annual event at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), including plays, a parade, a dance, alumni reunion activities, a football game, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen. The five people are possibly members of the class of 1930, John Howell, Irene McDade, J. Bunyan Love, Clay Marmon, and Tom Hayes.
