Description

This image shows William Howard Plemmons and his wife in a living room in April 1956. Mrs. Elizabeth "Bebe" Plemmons can be seen seated in the center of the image crocheting, while Dr. Plemmons tunes the television set in the background. Mrs. Plemmons made and gave newborn booties to many faculty. Plemmons was president of Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) and Appalachian State University (1967-current) from 1955-1969.
