J. D. Rankin, interim president of Appalachian from June to September 1955, can be seen on the left. The Graduate Students Club was formed of students pursuing graduate studies at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). In 1954-1955, it had some approximately members. The Graduate Club formed in October 1954.
