This image shows three firefighters speaking with Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) business manager David Barnard Dougherty on the Promenade. On the left is ASTC sophomore Russell Thomas McDonald. In the background the Women's Gymnasium, built 1924, can be seen, along with the courtyard in front of it. The photograph was taken circa 1953.
