Title
Freshman Registration, Fee Payment, 1955, photo 4
Description
This image shows a freshman student obtaining a handful of booklets after paying fees in the auditorium of the Administration Building, built 1924. Books seen on the tables are possibly tickets for the meal plan, which students were required to purchase at registration. Each booklet cost five dollars, with the minimum for the meal plan requiring students purchase thirteen. The line can be seen extending into the background. Freshmen were required to pay fees, including tuition, course and activity fees, housing, meal plans, and laundry expenses before the start of the term. In 1955, a freshman student could expect to pay approximately $225.00 (in-state) or $310.00 (out-of-state) in expenses.
