Description

This image shows a freshman student purchasing what is possibly meal tickets after paying fall term fees at the Administration Building, built 1924. A pile of small meal ticket books can be seen on the table in front of two students. Each book cost five dollars, with the meal plan requiring students to purchase a minimum of thirteen meal ticket books during registration. A line of students can be seen curving around in the background. All expenses were expected to be paid before term would start, including tuition, activity and class fees, a meal plan, laundry, housing, and other contingent fees. In 1955, a freshman student could expect to pay approximately $225.00 (in-state) or $310.00 (out-of-state).
