Debate Team, February 1954

This image shows the debate team standing in front of the second Administration Building, built 1924, in February 1954 at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). This image was taken before the team left for the Florida State College Forensic Tournament in Tallahassee, Florida, in Feb. 1954. They were accompanied by Leo K. Pritchett, Director of Forensics. Seen in front are Jean Hopkins and Joanne Aldridge. In the back are Julia Hough, Leo K. Pritchett, and Kate Cashion. They tied for third place in the competition.
