Description

This image shows 1954-1955 editor and business manager of the "Rhododendron," the student-produced yearbook for Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), started in 1922. Editor Ina Smith is seen sitting in front of an open copy of the Rhododendron, next to the business manager, Betty Boone, standing on the left. The yearbook was published each year, and included individual photographs of students, faculty, and administration, group photographs of clubs and campus organizations, athletics, campus and senior superlatives, sponsors, and also included advertisements at the end of the book. The editor and business manager were elected by the student body the year before. Image was taken on April 25, 1954, after their election to editor and business manager posts.
