This image shows a side view of the Banquet celebrating the installation of the new Beta Psi Chapter of the National Honorary Biological Society, Beta Beta Beta at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), held on February 12, 1954. Fifteen members of the Science Club are seated around a long table in the Daniel Boone Hotel's dining room. Another smaller table, covered with a table cloth and utensils, can be seen in the foreground. Senior Jean Hopkins, Science Club president and new Beta Psi historian, can be seen third from the right, her face slightly turned towards the camera. Science Club sponsor Dr. Arnold van Pelt can be seen facing the camera, second from the right.
