Description

This image shows four members of the Dougherty Family. Blanford Barnard Dougherty, Watauga Academy (1899-1903) co-founder and co-principal, and Appalachian president from 1903-1955, is on the right, Adam Mast Dougherty, Blanford's uncle, is on the left, and Edwin Shull Dougherty, Blanford's nephew, and Virginia Brown, Blanford's grand-niece, are in the foreground. They can be seen standing in the yard of the Dougherty House, built 1903. This image was taken around 1919-1920.
