College Employees Banquet, 1953, group photo

This image shows the group photo of the attendees of the College Employees Banquet on December 18, 1953. Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) President Blanford Barnard Dougherty (1903-1955) can be seen on the second row to the right. Seen in the front row to the left is J. D. Rankin, dean of the College and later interim president of ASTC. The banquet was held at Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925.
