Title

Faculty Boarding Houses

Description

This image shows two boarding houses for faculty. On the left is McNeill Cottage, purchased by the School in 1907, and burned on December 31, 1914. The houses faced south, and were located north of the Administration Building, built 1905, approximately where East Hall, built 1952, now stands. Although providing student dormitories such as Lovill Home and Newland Hall, faculty resided in boarding houses, along with some students with the permission of parents and the school president. The school controlled two boarding houses and four cottages in addition to the dormitories.
